Coldplay, Others, Ready To Play Green Aid
Published February 11th, 2007 in News.
UK alternative band Coldplay are reported to be ready to join some of the biggest names in the world of music by committing to a ‘Live Aid’ style extravaganza in the name of saving the planet.
The idea of a green global music show is being headed up by the former vice-president of the United States Al Gore, who has been championing global warming issues since he retired from politics.
ContactMusic.com reports that U2, Robbie Williams, Oasis, and Kylie Minogue are among artists who would be willing to perform at ‘Green Aid’ style shows. The concerts are set to be staged in the UK, USA, Japan, Brazil and Africa.
Gore said: “Television hypnotises billions but it is a one-way conversation filling minds with junk food. The only way to breathe meaning back into our words is through music. We need you.”
More details are expected to be announced next week.
