Latin American fans will be the first to hear new songs from Coldplay when the band undertakes a tour of the region in February and March, according to Billboard. The trip will begin on February 14th with a three-night stand in Santiago, Chile, before finishing up on March 3rd in Mexico City. The British quartet will also hit Buenos Aires, Argentina and Sao Paulo, Brazil on the jaunt. Coldplay has reportedly been working on material for its fourth album and will preview some of it on the tour.

The new Coldplay album is tentatively expected to arrive in late 2007 and will follow the band’s massively successful 2005 effort, X&Y.

Frontman Chris Martin played a new song called “Bucket For A Crown” during a surprise solo set in London last Monday (November 27th). The singer appeared on a bill with several other artists for the U.K. learning disability charity Mencap.

Coldplay has been on an extended break since completing its touring efforts behind X&Y earlier this year.
